After racing season is finished:
It is absolutely essential that racing pigeons undergo a health check in order to
prevent infectious organisms picked up during the flying season from invading the
flock, spreading and leading to an outbreak of clinical disease at times of stress.

This should be carried out as early as possible so that treatment can be carried
out before the main moult, thereby avoiding damage to the plumage.

In areas at risk from pigeon pox, birds must be vaccinated with chevi-pok. (This
is a vaccine for pigeon pox).

During moulting:
Moulting must be rapid and complete. Especially during the main moult, measures
should be taken to support the pigeon's metabolism, accelerate moulting and
promote the formation of new healthy feathers. To prevent deficiency problems,
which can impair the formation of new feathers, Chevi-san, Mycosan-T and Miral
are administered as follows during moulting:

The birds must be kept free from ectoparasites. This is achieved by means of
regular control of ectoparasites.

After Show season is finished before Breeding:
It is really important to make sure that all of the breeders for the year are free
from any type of problems. One of the first things to do is to worm all of the
birds before the beginning of your breeding season.

The best thing to do after worming is to make sure that all of the birds are in
good health and to do this you may need to run an antibiotic through them for a
few days just to make sure that they don't have any hidden problems before you
start breeding. You may not see anything wrong but it could just be lurking there
just waiting for you to stress your bird and then it will show it's ugly head.

9 Weeks Before Mating:
Begin preventative treatment with Chloramphenical-N, followed by vaccination
against salmonellosis with a Salmonella vaccine.

5 Weeks Before mating:
Vaccinate all birds with a Paramyxovirus vaccine.

From 2 weeks Before mating until the Squabs are grain-fed:
To enhance the birds readiness to mate and to support the health of the parent
birds during rearing, Chevi-san, Vitin and Miral are administered as follows.

After laying:
To protect the nestlings against infection, the parent birds should be given
precautionary treatment against trichomonads (canker) with Chevi-col +.
Young Pigeons

4 Days Before Weaning:
Experience has shown that it is best to vaccinate squabs against Paramyxovirus
infection with a good vaccine while they are still in the nest.

From Weaning:
To stimulate natural resistance and help squabs cope better when being weaned
they are given Livimun as follows.

During the Growth period:
To prevent skeletal disorders and promote development squabs are given Vitin and
Miral as follows:

Around the 7th Week of life:
Precautionary de worming with Ascapilla + should be done.

Remember:
Vaccinate for Paramyxovirus, Pigeon Pox and Salmonellosis annually!
